Accommodation
The symposium takes place at the Hotel and Conference Monte Verità in Ascona, the venue of choice of the Congressi Stefano Franscini (CSF), the meeting platform of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich (ETH Zurich), responsible for the promotion, selection and financing of international conferences, workshops, summer and winter schools at this venue since 1989. The CSF provides an ideal meeting point for all members of the international scientific community who wish to discuss the state of the art and new challenges of any field of research.

Hotels in Ascona
For the benefit of those conference participants who want to bring family (which we cannot accommodate on Monte Veritá), or who cannot find room at the conference site, we can give some information on hotels which are not too far from the conference site, and offer rooms in different price categories that are in the vicinity of Monte Veritá.
The external pageCasa Berno is a four-star house perched high above the lake in the midst of a subtropical garden, about a twenty minute flat walk (ca 1.5 km) from the conference site (shuttle service provided to conferees). All rooms have a view on the lake and the hotel has lots of facilites, among them a beautiful swimming pool. Yours if you want to edulge in some luxury.
The external pageLa Perla is a three-star hotel situtated right at the bottom of Monte Veritá, slightly above the town of Ascona, within ca 15 minutes walking distance of the conference site. Single rooms for 5 days are ca CHF 1’000, double rooms CHF 1’100-1’350, including breakfast.
The external pageHotel Ascona, a nice three-star hotel, is also situated within 10 minutes walking distance of the conference site on Monte Veritá. Single rooms start at CHF 540, double rooms at CHF 815, for five days, excl. breakfast.
The external pageHotel Garni Luna is down in the village of Ascona, ca. 17 minutes walking distance to Monte Veritá. It has some very inexpensive rooms which can, however, only be booked at the Hotel directly (mail: or by telephone: +41 91 791 36 07).
The external pageCasa Emmaus, behind the Monte Verità hill in Losone (ca. 2 km from the conference center), is a friendly pension where you can get a room for as little as CHF 65, breakfast included, or where groups of up to 4 persons can rent little apartments for CHF 120 per night (no breakfast included). This accommodation has always been popular with graduate students and postdocs who do not mind walking uphill 100 m to Monte Veritá.
